The only surprise was that for some reason installer froze every time right after install upgrades and non free software checkboxes screen. I tend to do work using my qusntal instead of sitting in front of it and admiring the latest curves from Cannonical's workshop.

Such users may not know how to use command line tools, and in most cases they just don't have enough resources for all the bells and whistles of the "full-featured" mainstream distributions.
